Hi, Im Travis and I live in Santa Cruz, California. I am a third year graduate student working towards my PhD in sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I work in a weird field known as the 'sociology of scientific knowledge' SSK for short. Specifically I study the organization of science in public policy (environmental regulation, biotechnology law, risk assessment/management, etc.). My interests, however, are all over the place (if you continue to visit you will soon see that I am a bit of an information/music junkie). Anyways I just started this thing today, but rest assured, people who dig news, music, science & technology, politics, activism, and world culture at large will surely find this blog worth checking out regularly. The "TW" signs you see at the end of the story summaries are my initials, indicating that I have summarized the news story in my own (informed) words (no copy and paste BS going on here) before linking the reader to the selected news source. Stay tuned...page should be up by the end of the weekend.
